This Zeagle F8 review shows that it is not just a functionally robust diving regulator, it is also an aesthetically appealing piece of diving gear. Made with a chrome plated marine brass first stage, it shows a very sleek and ergonomic piece. The first stage is designed with a balanced diaphragm that is environmentally sealed from all forms of dirt. To do this, the membrane of the diaphragm is designed to convey the change in pressure to the internal mechanism which eliminates the instance of water sipping into the gear.

In action, this design has its merit and it lives to the fullest in the light of that. The benefit of the first stage like this one is that it totally seal off and prevent contaminants of all kinds such as sand, chlorine, salt, or any other acid from getting into the regulator or affecting the workings. If they gain entrance of access into the regulator, these contaminating elements are known to cause corrosion in heavy degree.

For the second stage, the F8 is a highly compact and light gear that has smooth edges and soft parts. The purge cover, which takes up the whole front of the reg, is soft and rubbery, the breathing adjustment knob is a full inch in diameter and ringed with soft rubber, while the Venturi lever is one of the easiest to reach and operate.

The Zeagle F8’s first stage, much like the second stage, has a dry-sealed spring chamber for optimal protection. All delicate parts of the 1st stage including the main spring are sealed behind the clear hydrostatic diaphragm away from the effects of salt or other contaminants in the water, making it environmentally sealed. It is very low in profile, barely extending above the tank valve, and places the low-pressure hoses directly out to the sides, in a pattern preferred by many divers.

The Zeagle F8 also has a conical precision high-pressure valve provides much greater reliability and service life compared to conventional designs, while improving responsiveness and performance at all breathing rates.

The F8 has a new threaded cover ring for improved safety and new heat sink with improved materials and greater surface area to dissipate cold. New zirconium plated inlet tube for increased corrosion resistance, new inhalation diaphragm with improved response and tear strength and a newly redesigned poppet with improved tolerances. The F8 has a patented seat saving orifice, new low-pressure second stage seat and a new second stage spring made from super alloy.
